It is Spring in Westbury, Massachusetts, Cam Flaherty is preparing her organic farm for spring and summer. She has baby chicks in the barn under heat lamps. Animal Right Activists are causing damage at the farms in the area. Their actions at a poultry farm leave red paint over all the buildings, the open doors allow cold temperatures to enter the buildings and lower the temperature for the chickens. Later that morning the owner is found dead in his home. Pete Pappas, the local homicide detective, and Cam boyfriend are called in order to explore the mysterious death. Cam farm is visited by the activists and the barn door is open allowing a fox to enter and take several chicks. Cap watches as the fox is in the barn when she is present. To help prevent trespassers Cam added new locks, a camera and motion lights to the barn area. Cam finds an arm and gold bracelet in her compost pile that brings to light an old mystery that affects the current time. Will the new hardware show the culprit before more damage occurs? A good light and easy read.

Disclosure: I received a free copy from Kensington Books through NetGalley for an honest review. I would like to thank them for this opportunity to read and review the book. The opinions are my own.
