Patricia Fry writes a light entertaining story about the lives of Iveys, their friends, and love of animals. Savannah’s, Rags, a black and white cat is extremely curious and smart. Rags has many adventures over the course of the series. There is always a mystery whether minor or major. Rags is involved in the mysteries and always provides the clue that unravels the “who done it? They are better to read in order but each is a tale by itself. They often provide a clue about the next book.
The Iveys have new neighbors and the family has several children of varying ages. Rags manage to sneak out several times and has found a new friend, a large orange cat named Sunshine. Small items are going missing in this neighborhood. Sometimes, the missing items are returned. Rags and Sunshine are seen in the area when items are gone. Sunshine has no apparent owner. There is excellent information on teaching children on approaching animals and their care. I highly recommend this book.
