Elaine Orr’s book have always been a relaxing and entertaining tale and this one did not disappoint. I found a pleasing police procedural set in a small college town named Logland. The names of the Sweathog Agricultural College reminds me of the Peter Shandy mysteries but the plot is different. Elizabeth Friedman has accepted the position of Police Chief as she was stressed out as a homicide detective. She has been on the job for a couple of years before her first murder occurs. Ben Addison, owner of the Bully Pulpit dinner is found dead in his restaurant. Elizabeth works with her officers to solve the death. All the small town normal problems occur. Frat behavior, Homecoming, sports gambling, picketing, and Ben’s decision do not allow tipping at the dinner. What caused his death is the question Elizabeth and her officers. I highly recommend this book.
